The BSIS Baton Training Course is an 8-hour class that covers the following:
- Moral and Legal Aspects of Baton Usage
- Use of Force
- Baton Familiarization and it's Uses
- First Aid for Baton Injuries
- Fundamentals of Baton Handling
This course is designed to teach students discretion and restraint in the use of baton and to teach techniques of baton handling.
Requirements: Only registered security guards or security guard applicants are eligible to take this course.
Security guards must have a valid security guard registration card and a baton permit before they may lawfully carry a baton on duty.
Students must sucessfully pass the written examination before a Baton permit is issued. Baton permits do not expire. The baton permit is issued by the State of California and is included in the cost of the class.
Class Time: 8-hour class, 8:45AM - 5PM

Cancellation Policy: Students will be charged a $15 cancellation fee to cancel any class. No fee will be charged for rescheduling classes.
Late Registration: An additional fee of 15% will be charged to students for anyone who signs up less than 48 hours from the start of the scheduled course. This fee applies to the cost of the course.
Students must be at least 18 years of age or older to participate. You must be a citizen of the United States or have permanent legal alien status and show a valid driver’s license or other valid photo identification to use any Services provided under this Agreement. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to take courses. DTTG RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE.
