Pistol Skills and Firing Techniques is the next and final step in our basic civilian handgun fundamental training series. Graduates of the Pistol 1:  Pistol Safety & Fundamentals Course are invited to participate in this next series of drills such as dry fire warm up, static line warm up, moving and shooting, and much more. This course consists of 1 hour of range safety briefing followed by 3 hours of drills at the range.  This course is a prerequisite to register for our Pistol 3: Intermediate Civilian Handgun Course and Range Day for Pistol course.



Students must be 18 years of age or older and must have successfully completed our Pistol 1:  Basic Civilian Handgun Introductory Course before taking this next level course.


Students will be required to demonstrate basic firearms safety, marksmanship, and competence in loading and unloading a firearm. The course is a total of 4 hours. The first hour includes a refresher, safety, and range-rules briefing. From there, you will transition to the firing line for the final 3 hours of defensive tactics training and live fire drills.


Items required in order to participate in this course:


  • California-compliant firearm (unloaded) (firearm rentals available for an additional fee)
  • 200 rounds of factory ammunition
  • No reloads allowed
  • Eye protection - safety glasses available for purchase in advance online
  • Hearing protection - electronic earmuffs recommended - available for purchase in advance online


Late Registration and Rental Fees:

An additional fee of 15% will be charged to students who sign up within 5 days from the date of any scheduled course. This fee applies to the cost of the course and any firearm rental(s).


You must be a citizen of the United States or have permanent legal alien status and show a valid driver’s license or other valid photo identification to use a firearm in connection with any Services provided under this Agreement. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed on the range.

    If you do not own a handgun for use during the class or if you cannot provide your own ammunition, Delta Tactical has handgun rentals available for this course.  Firearm Rentals are not included with the cost of any class and must be purchased separately.  Ammunition is included with Firearm Rentals.  Please be aware that due to the increasing supply and demand of ammo, our firearm rental prices have substantially increased and prices may fluctuate.

    Firearm Rentals are required for students who do not provide their own firearm for use during the class or if you cannot provide your own ammunition.  Firearm Rentals will be available for use the day of the class at the gun range. The type and caliber of firearm rental provided will be at the instructor's discretion and dependent upon availability.
