Shotgun Safety and Fundamentals Training Course

Our Shotgun Safety and Fundamentals Training Course is the ideal opportunity for new shooters to take your first steps towards learning how to safely and effectively operate a shotgun. If you have little to no experience with shotguns, this is the class for you! We highly recommend this course to anyone looking to enhance their knowledge and necessary skills to operate a shotgun.


Students will learn a thorough introduction to shotgun safety, shotgun parts, how to properly hold a shotgun, the difference in shotgun types, various ammunitions, how to safely and lawfully transport, liability and laws, range rules and how to shoot with confidence and at ease.

Class Time: 7 hours (4 Hours Classroom Time, 3 Hours Range Time)

Class Location: 2504 Verne Roberts Circle, Suite #103, Antioch, CA 94509

Materials Needed:

  • 50 rounds of ammunition

    • Included with gun rentals

    • (20) Bird Shot, (10) Slugs, and (20) 00 Buckshot

  • Shotgun

    • Please remember to safely transport your weapon. If you do not have a weapon, rentals are available.

  • Ear safety gear

    • Can be purchased day of class

  • Eye safety gear

    • Can be purchased day of class


Course Cost: $245.00

Rental Cost: $66.00

Cancellation Policy: 

Students will be charged a $15 cancellation fee to cancel any class. No fee will be charged for rescheduling classes.  We hold classes rain or shine.  Range training is conducted outdoors so please dress accordingly. 

Late Registration and Rental Policy: 

An additional fee of 15% will be charged to students for anyone who signs up less than 48 hours from the start of the scheduled course. This fee applies to the cost of the course and any firearm rental(s).

Students must be at least 18 years of age or older to participate. You must be a citizen of the United States or have permanent legal alien status and show a valid driver’s license or other valid photo identification to use a firearm in connection with any Services provided under this Agreement. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed on the range. DTTG RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE.
